Here at Agate Edge we are always looking for ways to operate as cleanly as we can. One thing we are doing to combat waste in our industry is our Glass Credit Program. Not only will we take our own current glass options, we accept ALL candle glass no matter the brand or location it was purchased! This helps us to reduce our carbon footprint, but it also allows us many other advantages. This article will share some of the reasons we love this piece of our business.

We study our own glass for any clues to continue to improve upon our high standards for creating the best candles possible. Things we look for are signs of soot, cracks, heat stress, excess wax remains, salt remaining, wick shape and scent recognition on an empty container. This helps us catch any issues that might prevent you from getting the best version of our brand and make adjustments as needed. We recognize that the average consumer may not practice the golden rules of candle use and we want to be prepared for that to ensure your safety long after our products leave our hands.
You have to have a control group when doing an experiment. Using our own returned glass gives us the unique gift of saving us from using costly new materials for our rigid testing phases. When we pick a new fragrance or note we want to add to our line it goes through about a month of lab time to make sure it's ready for the public. Having recycled glass on hand allows us to run these tests while knowing that our work is showing real life results by maintaining the brand standard.

Incentive is everything. Why go through the trouble? Not only are you helping us to reduce our waste as a candle community, you will also save money! Every candle from our line earns you credit in our store and acts as a coupon on your same day purchase. You can earn $1 for every 10oz vessel and $0.50 for every votive or tin.
Bring one empty candle or a whole box to our new location in Medford at 2772 West Main St. We're happy to take them off your hands and offer you a discount on some fresh replacements!
